Thank you for your interest in working with me...

If you're considering reaching out for support, then things are likely difficult for you right now...

It's not easy admitting that you're not where you want to be in life, however by taking that first step to reach out, things can get better for you!

If you're looking for a friendly and down-to-earth creative counsellor to support you, I'd be delighted to hear from you...

What Happens in a Session?

Most often we will sit together in my therapy lounge or meet online. You will have the space to talk, and I will respond with the aim of helping you sense deeper into your process. Together we may notice patterns or themes that emerge, or wonder about intentions or motivations behind behaviours, thoughts or actions. We will pause, reflect and be curious about your experience...

Alongside talk therapy, there are a number of illuminating and exploratory resources, activities, and processes that may support you. You may find yourself creating life maps, journaling, experimenting with doodling or clay work, practicing creative visualisations, EFT tapping, mindfulness, body-oriented awareness... and more ... Many of these approaches can be adapted for online work too...

Research suggests that by applying, experimenting, and integrating self-help behaviours into your daily life you will greatly enhance your potential to create lasting positive change. With this in mind, I may offer you resources or self-help practices to experiment with in-between sessions...

How Does Change Happen?

I do not have imposed solutions, offer advice, give guidance on your actions or your circumstance. The principle that guides my work is the understanding that you have the potential and ability to make the right choices for yourself. I, therefore, see my role as creating the conditions where your own capacity for authentic and positive forward movement is enlivened...

Radical Acceptance

In my professional and personal experience, I have seen people with mental health diagnoses being viewed through the lens of pathology, symptoms, and labels. In the spirit of radical acceptance, I do not diagnose and I do not label. I am not trained to do so and nor would I want to. I work from the understanding that every one of us is an intricate, complex, and entirely unique human being. When we work together, I will work with all that you are bringing, working with you the person – not a label.

Counselling  Approach

I offer an integrative and in-depth approach to personal growth and healing, holding the importance of our relationship, curious exploration, and deep listening as central to the work. I offer over 15 years of training and experience, weaving influences from various approaches; focusing-oriented psychotherapy, emotional freedom techniques, mindfulness, eco-therapy, solution-focused approaches, coaching  and the expressive arts.

Am I the right person to help you ?

I think the only way to find out is to meet me and decide for yourself.

If you're curious and ready to take that first small step, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
